Twitter Cyber-Security News Scraper

Twitter Cyber-Security News Scraper

A program created using Twitter's old API to retreive the most current Cyber Security news and information.

During my work experience at BAE Systems at the age of 15, I embarked on a project aimed at developing a Python script to harness the power of Twitter's API for cybersecurity intelligence gathering. The objective was to create a tool capable of retrieving real-time information about cybersecurity incidents and updates based on user-defined parameters, such as location and keywords.

To realise this project, I leveraged my proficiency in Python programming and familiarity with Twitter's API to design and implement an efficient and versatile script. The script was engineered to fetch and analyse tweets containing relevant cybersecurity keywords and filter them based on specified criteria, such as geographical location or specific topics of interest.

By harnessing the power of social media data, the tool provided valuable insights and situational awareness to enhance proactive cybersecurity measures and incident response capabilities.

This project not only showcased my technical skills in software development and API integration from a young age but also demonstrated my proactive approach to leveraging technology for cybersecurity intelligence gathering and analysis. It underscored my ability to innovate and contribute to the advancement of cybersecurity practices within the industry.
